Azerbaijanis are increasingly active on social media. But does that mean they are becoming more tolerant of new ideas?

Fidan Akhundova (Baku, Azerbaijan) is an award-winning filmmaker and illustrator. She graduated from the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts with a bachelor’s degree in illustration. In 2014 she received a DAAD scholarship and moved to Germany to continue her education, earning a master’s degree from Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences. While doing graduate work in South Africa and Romania, Fidan reconsiders the role of art in social change and decided to earn a bachelor’s degree in education from Potsdam University. In 2020 she made her first animated film, which won two prizes in Azerbaijan.
