A tale of people who lost their homes, their homeland, their unrecognized state, and their citizenship. 120,000 residents of Nagorno-Karabakh were forced to flee their homes in September 2023. A young journalist, Lika Zakaryan, tries to shed light on the challenges they now face. Despite holding a passport from the Republic of Armenia, she soon discovered that she was not considered a citizen of Armenia. Like many others, Lika must now make a choice: whether to get a refugee card or Armenian citizenship.
