Chai Khana contributors celebrated multiple wins at the 2024 WEMW

Chai Khana contributors and filmmakers from Georgia and Azerbaijan celebrated multiple wins at the the 14th edition of “When East Meets West” (WEMW) co-production forum, which took place within the Trieste Film Festival in Italy. 

 

Nurlan Hasanali was recognized for  “The Amateur Photographer’s Family Portrait," which received the DAE/EFM Talent Development Award. Lala Aliyeva won the Ciclic WEMW Award for "Strange Sea."

 

The co-production forum selected 21 projects from 18 countries, comprising nine fiction films, nine feature-length documentaries and three short animation films. This edition's spotlight territories were Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, as well as Spain, Portugal and Latin America.

 

Under the Last Stop Trieste Awards, Elene Mikaberidze won the Film Center of Montenegro Award for "Blueberry Dreams."

 

"When East Meets West" is a co-production forum organized by the FVG Audiovisual Fund and the Trieste.
