Sofia Documental is launching call for applications for documentary projects related to human rights. 

 

The Balkan Documentary Center – Sofia and Konrad Adenauer Foundation with the support of Czech Cultural Center are organizing a film festival dedicated to world documentary cinema with a focus on human rights. For the first time this year, the festival will be organized in-person. In addition to screening cutting-edge documentary films, festival is looking for projects in development who need support from the acclaimed mentors.

 

 

The call is for filmmakers, who are working on documentary projects related to human rights and investigation. They can be in the stage of development or production.

 

The participants will have the chance to discuss the specifics of their projects both in a group and individually with the mentors. So far, the confirmed mentors are Melody Gilbert (USA) and producer Wolfgang Knöpfler (TERRA MATER Factual Studios). More tutors to be announced. 

 

The workshop will take place from 6th until 10th September 2021 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

 


Application process:

 

Please send to documental@documental.bg a short synopsis of your project, director’s note, trailer (if available) and your CV. 

Results will be announced by August 23.

The workshop will be conducted in English.

Participation is free of charge. For the selected participants accommodation costs are covered. Travel expenses should be paid by participants.
