KIU Photo Contest

KIU Photo Contest is organized with the support of Kutaisi International University. The main aim of the KIU Photo Contest is to support the development of photography in Georgia by promoting professional growth of young photographers by identifying, supporting and strengthening their careers. KIU Photo Contest is funded by the International Charity Foundation “Cartu”.
The theme of the contest is “Georgia – Stories told with the images”. Participants are free in the interpretation of the topic and the aesthetics of the work. We encourage a creative approach.
KIU Photo Contest has three main categories: Professional Photographers, Amateur Photographers and One-Shot category.
Prizes for the winners in Professional Photographers’ category:
1st place – 10 000 GEL
2nd place – 7 000 GEL
3rd place – 4 000 GEL
Prizes for the winners in Amateur Photographers’ category:
1st place – 7 000 GEL
2nd place – 5 000 GEL
3rd place – 3 000 GEL
Prizes for the winners in One-Shot category:
1st place – 3 000 GEL
2nd place – 2 000 GEL
3rd place – 1 000 GEL
eligibility : professional and amateur photographers (citizens of Georgia) from 18 to 30 years to participate in the photo contest.
Those wishing to participate in Professional and Amateur Photographers’ categories should submit:
• Year when it was made and a description of the project, in Georgian and English, not more than one page.
• Minimum 10 and maximum 15 photos from the proposed project (2000 px, JPEG, file size max. 2 MB)
• The title of the each file should include the surname, name and the number of the image: Surname_name01
• No watermarks / copyright units / logos on images.
Those wishing to participate in the one-frame category must submit photos according to the following technical requirements:
• Minimum 1 and maximum 3 photos, 2000 px, JPEG.
• Title of the each file should include the surname, name and the number of the image: Surname_name01
• No watermarks / copyright units / logos on images.
Please zip the folder, name it your firstname_lastname and email to submissions@kiuphoto.ge. Write the category where you want to submit in the subject line.
Finalists will be required to submit high resolution RAW or JPEG files.
By submitting your photos you grant consent to the organizers of the KIU Photo Contest to use the photos for non-commercial purposes (photo contest advertising campaigns on social media and online media, exhibitions, brochures, etc.), even if you won’t be among the finalists. In case of using the work, the author will be notified. Author retains all of the copyrights.
