The repressive regime is pushing independent online media to the brink of extinction. To raise awareness of this existential threat, 22 outlets temporarily shut down their websites. This symbolic blackout kicked off the campaign “The Lights Must Stay On,” uniting supporters to defend freedom of the press. A single platform was created to support all 22 media outlets through one account transfer.

The campaign poses the question: What happens when the light goes out—when free voices are silenced and unbiased information disappears? As the light fades, the truth fades with it.

The goal of the campaign is to show the audience:

- A unity of independent online media,
- The real threat of their disappearance amid repressions,
- And their role in preserving the light.
