Chai Khana announces a full time, three-month fellowship with flexible hours for photographers interested and motivated to improve their skills. The fellowship will include training and mentoring by Chai Khana staff, and invited mentors. Selected fellows will have weekly assignments and would be expected to produce photo stories that will be published on Chai Khana’s platforms.

The stories should cover the topic of the “Future.” Uncertainty has become a byword for 2022. The stories produced within the programme should address the following questions; what are the issues defining the future for your community and country? What issues concern the next generation the most? Who and what decides the future?

Selected fellows will be supported through individual mentorship and group works on visual storytelling, caption writing, sequencing and selecting the photos. Selected photographers will receive all necessary support to develop the photo stories.

All selected participants will receive a monthly stipend of 300 euro for the length of the fellowship. Chai Khana will cover additional production costs such as local travel and accommodation.

The majority of the training and mentorship sessions will be conducted online. The physical meetings in the second half of September will be planned in Tbilisi, Georgia. Fellows will be expected to travel to Georgia from September 17 to September 24, 2022.

In addition the selected fellows should be prepared to travel locally to complete their assignments.
