Who is left from the old ones?

18.04.23

Eldar, 70, lives alone in his dilapidated house in a historic district of Tbilisi. His neighborhood has been partly demolished by a construction company and his neighbors' homes have been replaced by hotels. As we get to know Eldar better, we realize how deep his ties are with Tbilisi and how he relates current problems to the breakup of the Soviet Union. Through Eldar's story, we also discover how the ethnic composition of Tbilisi has changed and how, from his point of view, the symbols of ethnic Azerbaijani identity in Tbilisi have been affected.
