Parallel Movements
Parallel Movements
A journey across Europe through the eyes of Georgian migrants — a fight for health, and the fundamental right to live.
Parallel Movements is a film told in four short episodes — each following a different protagonist, yet ultimately converging into a single story: the lived reality of Georgians who have emigrated to France for urgent healthcare needs. The film opens with the perspective of a female interpreter — who serves as a kind of bridge between cultures.
Paris, despite being one of the most touristic cities in the world, also serves a refuge for countless migrants. The film seeks to peer into hidden parts of the city that remain unseen and unknown to the wider public.
The demonstration held by Georgian emigrants on the streets of Paris also becomes part of the film. For them, the threat of losing a European future feels even more tangible.
Parallel Movements tells the story of Georgian migrants beyond their borders — through their lives, it embodies the stories of the countless Georgians who have already left, are in the process of leaving, or who intend to leave in the future.
