How the sounds of religious rituals reflect daily life in Tbilisi neighborhoods.

Every corner of Tbilisi has its own sound and rhythm.

At different times of the day, amid the cacophony of noise, there is a moment of harmony that is regularly repeated and becomes the main sound layer in some neighborhoods. In those neighborhoods, the sounds of religious rituals pervade and coexist with the noise of daily life. An uncontrolled, boundaryless sound layer often mixes spaces with different meanings. This diffusion of sounds often confirms the polyphonic nature of the universe.

The film Strings is an attempt to document ritual ambient sounds in Tbilisi.
